This is the course that has the famous par 3 holes cuts across the cliff front. Challenging course though most of the holes are more parkland than links.

The Val de Lobo complex, adjoins the Quinta de Lago courses, and is about a 15 minute drive from Vilamoura, it has two excellent 18 hole golf courses, some spectacular views and holes a luxurious club house setting and excellent service.

The club house is of the highest standard and very modern is design. A large bar and lounge area open out onto a terrace that overlooks the putting practice area.

The changing rooms are accessed though the bar area and are of an excellent quality, though a little cramped.

The level of service is excellent from the staff, though a bit more formal than some of the other clubs. The course does offer a complementary shuttle service for players, but this is not part of the Villamoura service and has to be organised and pre booked with the golf course, though Golfalgarve.com can arrange this for you.

The original course based on a original design of famous late Sir Henry Cotton, who also designed the well renowned Penina course in the Algarve. The Val de Lobo Royal was remodelled in 1997 when Roque Roquemore carried out extensive work on both courses and laid out the current two 18 hole formats.

The Par of the course is 72, and at 6,059 meters in length it is slightly shorter than its twin course, the Val do Lobo Ocean, but a little more expensive to play !

Famous for its three demanding par 3’s, the most famous of which is the 16th hole requires a tee shot that cuts across the red cliff face of the coast. By far the most photographed hole on the whole of the Algarve. However don’t expect a full blown links course as the majority of the holes are, although lovely and challenging, inland.
