Situated on the eastern Algarve this is an interesting and challenging course. Part of the front nine run down to the sea and have a real links feel while the back nine wind though parkland

The Palmers course is set near the costal town of Lagos. The course is an excellent and interesting track with a number of links holes and a back nine that is on hilly parkland terrain.

The course is one of the oldest in the Algarve. It opened in 1975 and was designed by Frank Pennink whos most famous course is the Old Course at Villamoura.

The Clubhouse as a member feel to it with a nice bar and comfortable relaxed restaurant. The changing room are a little tired and the facility is beginning to show is age. The course is always in good condition though its not as manicured as some of the more central Algarve courses.

Similar to his Villamoura achievement, Pennink has made use of the natural terrain to develop some excellent holes. At just under 6,000 meters the course is not long, but if the wind is blowing in off he Atlantic this first 5 holes that run down to the beach and can be very difficult.

Of these beach side holes the most interesting is the 4th which with the prevailing wind behind can play quire short and the Par 5th which runs parallel with the beach and needs some long hitting.

Much the same as Pennina the course suffers from being off the main golfing track and does not have a good stable of adjoining courses for a good group holiday venue. Though for small groups who have access to villas in the area this course along with Boavista and Parque Floresta can make fro a pleasant golf break.
