Vilamoura Algarve Portugal
The Laguna course was built by the American designer Joseph Lee. It opened for play in 1990 and was originally part of a 27 hole complex, 9 of which went to form the Millennium course in 2000.
The name of the course in English is "the lake", which gives a clue to what the major danger is on the course. There is little protection from the prevailing winds on the Laguna. The sSparse tree cover leaves it exposed to the elements and with the wind up in can be quite a challenge to return a score.
The Millennium and Laguna share the same club house and for those keen to enjoy there golf it would make a good 36 hole venue.
The course is part of the 5 Oceanico courses on Villamoura, and price wise it is part of its 3 entry level. (The other two being The Millennium and Pinhal). It is suitable for medium to high handicappers and groups looking for a more social side to there golfing holiday.
Location is great being close to the port and a short taxi or shuttle bus away.
