Vilamoura Algarve Portugal
The Pinhal course is one of the oldest tracks in the Vilamoura complex. Originally built in 1976 and designed by Frank Pennink. It has always fallen short of its sister course, the Old ,also by the same architect and now established as one of Portugal's favorite courses.
It is though a good holiday golf course and well worth putting in to a package as a starter before you taken on either the Old Course or the Victoria. The holes wind in and around the natural pine trees of the region. There are a few water hazards and some well placed bunkers. The course is ideal for groups of mixed players on a short break who want a nice if not to demanding round, short journey time and a few relaxing beers afterward.
